Malaria Cases Drop 40% After Community Net Distribution Drive

Health officials report a 40 percent drop in malaria cases across three wards in the six months following a community-wide distribution of insecticide-treated bed nets, coordinated with local health volunteers.

The drive reached over 12,000 households, with volunteers going door to door to ensure nets were actually installed rather than left unused.

'The nets only work if people actually hang them. That was the real job here, not just handing them out,' said lead volunteer coordinator Erepamo Wonodi.
