The Executive Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Chief Barr. Vincent Nemieboka, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to improving public education with the ongoing rehabilitation of primary schools across the council area.

The comprehensive renovation programme is designed to provide pupils with safer, more conducive learning environments while improving working conditions for teachers. It forms part of the Council's broader vision of strengthening the foundation of basic education through sustained investment in school infrastructure.

Across the benefiting schools, ageing and deteriorating classroom blocks are being transformed through extensive rehabilitation works. The projects include the replacement of damaged roofing sheets and timber roof structures, installation of new ceilings, replacement of broken doors and window panes, fresh painting of school buildings, and the provision of new classroom furniture to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

According to the Council, the intervention is being implemented across several communities within Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, with the objective of ensuring that every child has access to a secure, comfortable, and inspiring environment in which to learn.

Among the schools already benefiting from the initiative are State School Bolo and Bolo Town School, Bolo, where the upgraded facilities reflect the administration's determination to restore confidence in public education and provide pupils with classrooms that encourage academic excellence.

The Council noted that the school rehabilitation programme is not merely about renovating buildings, but about investing in the future of Ogu/Bolo's children. Modern and well-maintained classrooms, officials say, contribute significantly to improved learning outcomes, higher school attendance, increased teacher motivation, and a more positive educational experience.

Chairman Chief Barr. Vincent Nemieboka has consistently identified education as one of the pillars of his administration's development agenda, emphasising that quality education begins with quality learning environments.

By upgrading educational infrastructure across the Local Government Area, the Council aims to create lasting opportunities for young people while laying a solid foundation for sustainable social and economic development.

As work continues across Ogu/Bolo, residents are witnessing visible improvements in public infrastructure projects that promise to positively impact thousands of pupils, teachers, and families for generations to come. The ongoing transformation underscores the Council's resolve to ensure that every child, regardless of community, has access to an environment that nurtures learning, growth, and future success.
